Athlete Development Programs

AD Programs
Athlete development at the Elite Performance Academy includes:

Comprehensive Athlete Assessment

We provide a Comprehensive Athlete Assessment for all new athletes.  The assessment may include some or all of the following, based upon the athlete’s age and ability level:

  • Upper and Lower Body Structural Balance Assessment
  • Basic Muscular Fitness
  • Maximal Strength Tests
  • Power Tests
  • Strength Endurance
  • Speed and Agility
  • Flexibility/Mobility
  • BioSignature Modulation
Upon completion of the assessment, the athlete will receive a full Assessment Report on their results, and recommendations for training and/or treatment protocols.
“You are only as strong as your weakest link.  If you don’t know where you are weak, how do you know if you are strong?”

Nutrition and BioSignature Modulation

Improving an athlete’s diet through education can create good eating habits, maintain an optimal body weight, and increase energy and self-esteem.  In addition, Bodyfat Analysis and Hormone Profiling can help us increase strength and energy levels, optimize bodyweight-to-power ratio, promote muscle building hormones (testosterone and growth hormone), and optimize recovery by strengthening the immune system.

Speed & Agility

Regardless of your sport, Speed is the name of the game! Being able to accelerate, change direction, and outrun your opposition will make you an unstoppable athlete. Our Athlete Development programs will improve your performance in all athletic movement skills, including:

  1. Linear speed and speed endurance
  2. Stopping, starting, deceleration
  3. Acceleration
  4. Movement skills in a variety of planes
  5. Resisted and assisted movement patterns
  6. Agility and footwork drills

Conditioning

Without a structured and sport-specific conditioning program, you risk compromising your speed, power, and explosiveness through games or through the season.  Our athletes are conditioned based upon the specific requirements of their sport, in a progressive program that will have them peaking  for their competitions and able to maintain their level of performance throughout their season.

Off Season Training

Athletes will be coached through an intense Strength and Power development program during their sport’s off-season. Programs will be based upon the athlete’s Comprehensive Athlete Assessment and the specific physical demands of their sport and position.  Each program will be progressive in nature, building a solid base of general strength, developing explosive power, and energy system conditioning according to their sports’ physiological requirements. Off-Season Programs will also aim to correct the athlete’s specific structural imbalances, increase flexibility and functional range of motion, and help the athlete to develop a solid work ethic, leadership skills, and a mental edge.

In-Season Training

It is vital to continue to train even during the competitive season, as muscle strength and size can begin to decrease in as little as 2 weeks if proper Strength Training is not maintained. In addition, the repetitive actions of the sport can re-introduce structural imbalances within muscles groups and contribute to injury potential. As such, the focus of the In-Season Program is to help athletes to maintain their strength, flexibility, and mobility, and stay injury-free throughout their competitive season.

I guess that 4.19 I ran last Monday wasn’t a fluke! The other test result went well. I had a 27″ vertical, 8’7″ broad jump, squatted 425lbs four times, benched 225lbs 13 times and cleaned 130kg twice.

Thank you again for your help and all the best!

Recap: Elite Football Academy Camp with Syracuse University

DSC_7958
Elite Football Academy joined forces with Syracuse University and created another positive learning experience to develop minor football players in the Nation’s capital. On June 3, future football stars from Ottawa and the surrounding area had the opportunity to take their game to the next level with the Elite Football Academy Camp, presented by Tony Graham Infinity Nissan. This Camp offered each player the opportunity to learn what NCAA Division I coaches teach their team and what they are looking for in future student-athletes.  The Elite Football Academy’s CFL Pro coaches, alongside the SU coaches, taught new drills and techniques at each position and got the players ready for an afternoon of competition.
