Elite Performance Academy’s Director of Athlete Development, Pat Woodcock, is the Head Strength Coach for SSNCanada, the Sports Streaming Network. SSN is Canada’s Home for University Sport, drawing upwards of 1 million website hits a month with live streams of CIS sports and on-air reporting.
Coach Woodcock provides viewers with an Elite Training Tip of the Week, filmed on location at the Elite Performance Athletic Complex in Kanata.
This week’s Elite Training Tip is the Split Squat. The Split Squat is a Unilateral (1 limb at a time) exercise that involves standing in a split position and moving up and down on the front leg without moving the feet. Splits Squats are often confused with Lunges, the difference being that when performing Lunges the feet do not stay stationary, but move back to the start position with every rep.

Elite Performance Academy Athlete Julien Moore has been selected to play in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl on Friday December 30 at the brand new Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas!
Julien is a 5’9″, 175lb Running Back attending Ashbury College in Ottawa. He still has 2 years of high school left and is already making a big name for himself on the football field.

Elite Performance Academy alum Kadeem Vaillancourt has been selected to play for Team World in the upcoming International Bowl. Kadeem, a 6’1″, 195lb Corner, recently completed his 1st season with the Concordia University Stingers.

USA Football’s International Bowl – formerly known as the Team USA vs. The World game – will take place on Wednesday, February 1, 2012. The game showcases some of the world’s best players aged 19 and under, selected from many of the 62 countries whose federations are members of the International Federation of American Football (IFAF).

While training Ottawa’s Elite athletes at ELITE PERFORMANCE ACADEMY, we’ve had numerous players and coaches tell us that they wanted access to the very best quality coaching possible, to be able to take their improved strength and athleticism and apply it to the development of skills on the field. With our own professional football experience, along with our network of Professional Players/Coaches, CIS/NCAA Coaches, and Certified Football Canada Coaches, we created the ELITE FOOTBALL ACADEMY.
ELITE FOOTBALL ACADEMY will teach you the football skills you need to be at your very best on the field. We offer programs primarily directed at athletes age 14-18 and can include on-field sessions, some in helmets and shoulder pads, as well as classroom sessions to take your Football IQ higher than it’s ever been.
The main focus of our program is multiple week ELITE FOOTBALL ACADEMY TRAINING CAMP. This program runs from January through March and includes:

The ELITE FOOTBALL ACADEMY Coaching Staff is second to none, including CFL All-Star players, CIS players and coaches. There is no other Football Camp or Program in Ottawa that can boast the skill and experience of our Coaching Staff, with Professional Players at virtually every position. There will be at least one main coach per position, with 1-2 assistants to ensure the highest quality football instruction.

In just a couple short years, Elite Performance Academy athletes have quickly begun to infiltrate the ranks of University Football here in Canada. In 2011, there were 13 players on 7 different CIS rosters that have trained as part of the Elite Performance Academy family over the past 2 years. In addition, one of our athletes is currently playing for the NCAA’s Bowling Green State Falcons.
