Elite Performance Academy Coaches Pat Woodcock and Donnie Ruiz were the featured Strength & Conditioning coaches for the CBC Hockey Nation Clinic in Ottawa on December 9-11.  Coach Woodcock was a featured speaker at the Coaches Symposium Friday evening, alongside celebrated hockey instructor Ron Davidson and legendary coach Pat Quinn.  The Coaches Symposium featured nearly 100 youth hockey coaches, and Coach Woodcock presented on "Elite Performance Training: Philosophies for Developing Young Athletes".  On Saturday and Sunday, nearly 500 young athletes had an on-ice session with Coach Quinn, Coach Davidson, and Canadian Olympic Gold Medalist Jennifer Botterill, followed by a dry-land training session with Coach Woodcock, Coach Ruiz, and Coach Hari Ghuman.  The athletes and coaches learned a proper Dynamic Warm-Up, a few base Strength movements, and some Agility and Quickness drills to begin the process of maximizing their athletic potential.

Special thanks to all the staff from the CBC Hockey Nation Tour, the volunteers from the Cumberland Minor Hockey Association and the Ray Friel Recreation Complex, and especially Shannon Chinn and Melanie Reid for all their help.
